Agde, Hérault, South of France


Agde is a commune in the Hérault department in southern France. It is the Mediterranean port of the Canal du Midi. Wikipedia


Agde is known for the distinctive black basalt used in the local architecture, hence its nickname 'the Black Pearl'. It was a busy port in the 17th Century but is now devoted mainly to tourism. more
