Les Bains, Montpellier - Restaurant review December 2009

Situated behind the Molière Theater (Place de la Comedie) the restaurant is in the old public baths of Montpellier. These were established in 1770 and then abandoned for over 40 years until they were renovated in 1998 into this charming restaurant.

They serve Mediterranean cuisine and specialise in fresh fish (daily) and menus that are regularly changed and designed around seasonal fresh produce from the market.
The inner courtyard with its centenary palm trees provides a wonderful venue during the summer months, while inside you can enjoy your meal in air-conditioning and surrounded by the old shower booths.

There is also the Lounge Bar - a fine wine and champagne bar which has music shows such as Jazz sessions or DJs who provide an original atmosphere. The glass gallery and the private dining rooms are open in winter.
Private lounges are available to groups as well as reservations of the Lounge Bar for special occasions.
