Hybrid grape varieties - for what?

The aim is: NO pesticide in the vineyards.
Vincent Pugibet from the La Colombette Béziers has planted hybrid grape varieties, which are resistant against downy mildew. This initiative is highly hailed by the Chambers of Agriculture in Hérault and Aude (Languedoc) which try themselves to find such grape varieties as premium plantations.

Vincent Pugibet says: This has nothing to do with GMOs. We launch a cross with different plants and eliminate all what is not resistant.
